50 years of creation

1970’s: leading the crowd
At the cutting-edge of fashion, Cindarella kits out Courrèges stores and designs the Aubade chair for the group, composed of an acrylic seat and back-rest. Still of relevance today, a new version of the chair comes into being in 2010 complete with built-in armrests as an extension of the seat.

1980’s: an avant-garde company
The first electrically-controlled shampoo unit, Mélodie, is brought out in 1981 and is marketed in 1982.
The sale of thousands of Mélodie 2 units revolutionise the hair styling sector in France and abroad. To this day, it continues to fitout styling salons, and is especially popular in franchise chains.

In May 1984, the Cindarella brand is taken over by Mr. and Mrs. Amellal. The company expands and establishes itself in Seine et Marne (plant sited at Tournan en Brie - 77). The number of employees grows from 11 to 25 in…

1990’s: intensive growth
In 1990, Cindarella relocates to Combs-la-Ville on a site covering 3000 m² and expands further. In a bid to offer a comprehensive service and control all stages in the manufacturing process, upholstery and carpentry workshops are built and the plastic thermo-forming press is kept on.

With the aim of controlling the entire production line, Cindarella takes over a structural metalwork plant in 1995. The site manufactures all the components required for styling fixtures (wash unit frames, chair base-plates, etc.). Cindarella is thus able to guarantee the quality of the materials over which it has full control.

In the late 1990s, Cindarella introduces a ground-breaking new concept, the Palanquin basin. Developed in collaboration with a professional stylist, the basin is ideal for use in hair care and facials. It offers optimum relaxation for the client in a reclining position, and maximum comfort for the stylist at work.
The Palanquin is awarded the top prize for innovation at the International Hairdressing and Beauty Trade Show in 2001.

At the same time, Cindarella expands internationally and starts exporting to all four corners of the globe. Numerous retailers, true to the brand, contribute to its renown.
Many other items of equipment are produced with an increasing amount of research, all the while safeguarding service quality and know-how.

2000’s: bursting with creativity
In 2006, Cindarella publishes a new contemporary catalogue, illustrated with atmospheric photos taken in a Haussmann apartment. The brand starts to promote its image and explore French design, avoiding the over-conventional.

Still driven by a creative dynamic, Cindarella collaborates with the designer Ora-Ito and develops a range of fixtures with an avant-garde stamp. In the following year, it designs the new Pop Up range, structured around the famous Manon acrylic chair produced in the 60s. Present throughout the world and familiar to stylists, the design is often copied, but never equalled. It is the epitome of Cindarella know-how.

In its constant quest for ergonomics, comfort and design, Cindarella joins forces in 2008 with the Design Pool agency. Together they develop the first range of shampoo basins, devised to combat musculo-skeletal problems for stylists. The Cocoon Nude, Cube and Ball models are a success.

Still motivated by sustainable development and the preservation of the planet, Cindarella, two years later, designs the first range of ecological professional fixtures, in collaboration with the designer Guido Matta and his right-hand man Enrico. The recycled and recyclable Biovision range is showcased to professionals at the International Hairdressing and Beauty Trade Fair for marketing in 2011.

Within the same plant, we produce over 80% of the components used in the making of our fixtures. Cindarella is today the only fixtures manufacturer in the world to control its production in this way.
This allows us to ensure quality, hard-wearing fixtures.

The technological innovation behind our fixtures created a whole host of new needs in the styling world. In fact, Cindarella was the first to design not only the electrically-controlled shampoo unit in the 80s, but also the first unit to help combat musculo-skeletal problems for stylists.

Build your own fixtures thanks to our flexible, controlled production. You can therefore design your own two-tone chairs, or add your screen-printed logo to chair backs… Bespoke design every bit equal to the top couture houses.

The company's headquarters and plant have been established at Combs-la-Ville in Seine et Marne for 20 years. Covering a surface area of 3000 m², Cindarella designs, manufactures and sells quality, elegant, comfortable fixtures. The industrial site encompasses all trades' bodies: upholstery and carpentry workshops, and a plastic thermo-forming plant. Only the metallic components workshop is located elsewhere at Collemiers in Yonne. Our control over the complete production cycle means that we can guarantee the quality of your fixtures.

These labels are our guarantee of sustainable forest management. In the manufacture of our chairs and bucket seats, we use a high-quality foam certified by CertiPUR and manufactured by Recticel. This label guarantees the minimal or non-use of heavy metals. The foam we use therefore generates no toxic waste throughout its life cycle. We have chosen this foam for safety, hygiene and the health of our employees and customers. A clean and non-toxic environment
Our insistence on "clean" materials, free of hazardous products, means that our fixtures generate no toxic waste for the consumer.
We have replaced the use of solvent-based glues with "aqueous" water-based adhesives. These aqueous adhesives are not only more effective, but also non-polluting and non-toxic.
By using materials and products guaranteed to be compliant with European standards, we are able to certify that our fixtures are non-hazardous for health and the environment.

With the aim of controlling and minimising the impact of our production on the environment, we regularly compile a report on the company's carbon footprint. The report gives an itemised account of the company's greenhouse-effect gas emissions. In this way, we can take concrete action regarding greenhouse-effect gas waste.

Recycling
The waste generated by our business activities is managed by being sorted and recycled:
- cardboard boxes
- aluminium
- cleaning rags
- foam off-cuts
- swarf from acrylic and other plastics (PE, PS, etc..)
- wood
- fabric

Employees' well-being
Our entire production process is based in our two plants in France, which enables us to ensure the highest level of social cover for our employees.
We regularly improve the ergonomics of our work-stations.

Designers

Ora-Ito Founded in 1977, Ora-Ito made a name for itself throughout the world in the 90s by creating 3D images of imaginary products by big international brand names. It works in collaboration with the biggest companies and the most prestigious furniture design companies: Thierry Mugler, Adidas, Kenzo, Danone, Guerlain, Habitat, Zanotta, Artemide, Cappellini… The Ora-Ito concept consists in proposing a simple solution to a complex problem: offering the consumer an object free of all complications that gives the impression of being simple by cleverly and invisibly concealing any usage constraints. In 2006, it partnered Cindarella in creating an avant-garde design range bearing its name. Boasting the use of simple volumes for a sleek, no-frills, rational look, the collection promises a...

Ora-Ito
Founded in 1977, Ora-Ito made a name for itself throughout the world in the 90s by creating 3D images of imaginary products by big international brand names.

In 2006, it partnered Cindarella in creating an avant-garde design range bearing its name. Boasting the use of simple volumes for a sleek, no-frills, rational look, the collection promises a future of absolute purity.

Design (Pool)
Working to constraints imposed by the business environment and product development, Jean-Pierre Vitrac and Jeremy Morgan look at the object from an aesthetic, technological and functional angle. Combining product design and industrial design, they thus found their work on swapping and sharing creative leads and on bringing product development to concrete fruition.
Working in close collaboration, Cindarella and the design agency developed Cocoon, the first range of hair styling fixtures devised to help combat musculo-skeletal problems. Factoring a new technology into the hair styling sector, the range features ergonomic, comfortable designs.

Matta & Partners
For nearly 15 years, Guido Matta has been partnering the hair styling sector: he brings his skills to bear in the interior planning of styling salons and academies (Académie L’Oréal in Milan and Frankfurt, the Jean Louis David concept, Aveda corners in Europe, etc..) and in designing fixtures and stands for professional styling salons (L’Oréal).
His work is based on pared-down lines and the use of innovative materials. It was therefore natural for Cindarella and Matta & Partners to come together to create the Biovision range of ecological fixtures using new eco-materials. The collaboration between Guido Matta and his work partner Enrico will continue until the Cindarella stand is completed for the 2010 edition of the International Hairdressing and Beauty fair.
